Our Denomination
Presbyterian Church in America or PCA
Bible-believing Presbyterians began the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) in 1973 with 260 congregations and about 41,000 members. The PCA was formed to be a denomination that is faithful to the scriptures, true to the reformed faith, and obedient to the Great Commission…..spreading the Gospel (the Good News) to the uttermost parts of the world.
We now have over 1,600 churches and more than 335,000 members in the United States and Canada with more than 75 Presbyteries. Our denomination has over 600 long-term missionaries, 450 short-term missionaries, and about 7,000 two-week workers who serve all over the world. We also have over 150 chaplains serving in all branches of the armed services. The PCA has also placed campus ministers on more than 125 college and university campuses all across America.
In addition, the PCA provides educations through its Covenant College and Covenant Theological Seminary, and has a Conference Center, Ridge Haven, in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina.
